NCU Inter-provincial team nickname competition

January 24th 2013 by Northern Cricket Union | Other

The NCU recently launched a competition for cricket fans to come up with a nickname for their new Inter-provincial limited overs team.

There has been an overwhelming response to the competition with over 50 suggestions received and the union thank everyone for entering the competition which produced a lot of very creative entries.

Due to the large number of entries the final decision of the nickname of the Inter-provincial team will be announced following the meeting of the NCU Management Board on the 12 February and the lucky winner notified shortly afterwards.

Chairman of the NCU, Brian Walsh said: ‘We are grateful for the tremendous interest and response from our cricket public and they have certainly given us a difficult task to select the winning entry’.

The inter-provincial series of 3 day, 50 over and T20 Blitz Sundays will start in May and the NCU hope that the competition captures the interest of the local cricket public and look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible to support our team.

Please check the NCU website here for the announcement of the NCU Inter-provincial fixtures when confirmed.
