Ten aspiring wicketkeepers from the Northern Cricket Union (NCU) boys and girls regional programme received an hour-long workshop with Ireland International Gary Wilson, who this year has returned home to Belfast to play for CSNI and the Northern Knights in 2019.
The workshop involved coaching drills, with some of the NCU regional coaches (Regan West, James Cameron-Dow and Stephen Dyer) providing practical support during the session.

Participants from the boys programme in attendance were: Ethan McAlmont, Nicholas Doran, Luke Beattie, Sam Topping, Adam Ly, Ashton Clark and Archie Johnston, while from the girls programme in attendance were: Erin Macquarrie, Ellen Sterritt and Annie Cunningham.

Commenting on this workshop, Uel Graham, NCU Operations Manager, said: “Our lead coaches highlighted that wicketkeeping is a discipline where we need to focus upon, and workshops like this are vital to skill set enhancement”.

The participants enjoyed this, the first of a series of such workshops that Gary will undertake in the junior player development area.
