The Irish Men’s Team have won their Desert T20 Challenge Warm Up fixture against the Bukhatir XI this morning, winning by 86 runs.
The Irish Men’s Team have won their Desert T20 Challenge Warm Up fixture against the Bukhatir XI this morning, winning by 86 runs.

The Bukhatir XI side is made up of employees from the Bukhatir Group and of players from the Sharjah Cricket Academy.
Having won the toss and batted first, Ireland made 144/8 from their 20 overs. Kevin O’Brien put in a player of the match performance, by hitting 54 (43) batting at number 4. There was support from captain William Porterfield, who hit 35 (32).

In reply, the Bukhatir XI were 58 all out in 17.2 Overs, Stuart Thompson finished with 2-3 from 2 Overs, while Craig Young and teenager Josh Little took 2-7. Returning to the Irish side from a broken leg, Boyd Rankin had figures of 2-8 from 2 his Overs.

The first match of the tournament for Ireland is against Afghanistan on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
