In relation to no mention of the women’s T20I match v Bangladesh on the ticket for our double-header with our men’s T20I v India on June 29th, we are sorry for the impression that this has given. We clearly could have acted quicker with remaining ticket stock after the announcement of the double-header in March.
How did it happen?

Primarily, the original tickets for the men’s match went on sale more than 3 months before the women’s fixtures were announced, meaning tickets printed initially would not have featured a reference to the double-header. That said, tickets sold since the announcement of the double-header should have been updated.

What we have already done

However, as you know from our frequent engagement with the women’s squad over the last weeks, you can rest assured our support for women’s cricket has never been stronger. You will know that we have undertaken much in terms of promoting the women’s part of the double-header to date including:
• generating some great PR and media at the time of the announcement (inc social media posts and web stories);
• we had the national team captain on a leading women’s sport podcast;
• we mentioned the double-header 20-30 times at the Test match;
• we featured information in our Test programme;
• our former women’s internationals were side-by-side with the men on the pitch on Sunday of the Test match;
• we had the Ireland Women’s Head Coach on our live Test match radio broadcast telling the world your story;
• we had women cricketers feature on the players pavilion at the Test match which was broadcast to the world.

These are just the headlines.

What is still in the pipeline?

We have a PR and social media push coming – which was not going to start in earnest until after the Test match; we will be emailing the Ticketmaster customer database (as is usual custom) and the details on the women’s match will feature; the T20I series programme will feature the double-header prominently.

So, an oversight no doubt, and for that we are sorry, but please be assured women’s cricket is an important part of the cricket community and we are raising the profile of the game year-on-year.
