The Senior and Emerging Academy have just completed their 4 and 3 day Camps respectively at the outstanding European high performance centre of La Manga Club Spain.

Over the last 7 days the players have taken responsibility on and off the training ground. Activities have included cooking, yoga and a variety of skills sessions covering batting, bowling and fielding in different formats twice a day. Fitness testing and video analysis have also taken place, with the Senior Squad especially recording a very high level of fitness.

The emerging Academy also had a focus on Power Hitting and scoring 360 degrees with sessions from world renowned Power Hitting Specialist Julian Wood.

Academy Manger and Wolves Head Coach Peter Johnston said:

‘These camps have given our Academy players and Wolves squad the best opportunity to bank some serious hard work outdoors in the sun and hit the ground running for the coming season. Coaches Ryan Eagleson, Albert Van de Merwe, Nigel Jones and I have been very impressed with the attitude and application of all the players. Their ambition and drive shone through in their work ethic and willingness to be challenged. We now look forward to a season which will present our under age squads and Wolves with more opportunity than there has ever been before in terms of meaningful fixtures with context.’

The Ireland Wolves face Bristol University tomorrow in a 50 Over Match.
