Advice and Further Information
The Federation of Irish Sport and Leman Solicitors have posted advice on legal risks related to COVID-19, with particular reference to the risk of claims and liability. Read the advice here.
As part of the above advice on minimising risk is a reference to insurance. While there is no common guidance about COVID-19 and insurance policies, we would recommend that clubs consult with their insurers on their standing and risk prior to restarting activity - some advice suggests that if a club has not followed the Government and sporting governing body guidelines, an insurance cover could be null-and-void in the event of a claim. Cricket Ireland will provide further information on return-to-activity when it is available.
Sport Ireland has also provided a free online course for coaches, players and volunteers returning to activity: https://www.sportireland.ie/covid19/course
