Club Grant and Funding Programmes

Club Grant and Funding Programmes

Clubs are the hub of our sport and are central to the long-term sustainable development of the game in Ireland.

In order to support clubs, in partnerships with the Provincial Unions, Cricket Ireland provides direct investment into club facilities, infrastructure and equipment through the Cricket Ireland Club Facilities Grant scheme, as well as provides information on other Government-supported Grant funds that clubs may apply to.

Cricket Ireland Club Facilities Grant

The Cricket Ireland Club Facilities Grant assists cricket clubs to improve grounds, pavilions and equipment. Over the last three years €150,000 has been invested in clubs through the Cricket Ireland Club Facilities Grant.

Successful projects funded have included:

• sightscreen replacement;
• upgrades to squares and outfields;
• drainage improvements;
• installation of artificial wickets;
• purchase of a mobile cage and bowling machine;
• purchase of a Water Hog and run-up covers; and
• club house upgrades and repairs.

The 2019 application process is now open.

• Clubs that are in good standing with their Provincial Union are eligible and have completed - or are on their way to completing - the relevant Clubmark (or similar) accreditation process.
• Clubs must confirm that they are providing a minimum of 50% funding for the nominated project.
• If approved for a grant from the Fund, the Club agrees to host at least one Cricket Ireland representative match over each of the following two seasons (if required), and/or two Cricket Ireland representative team training sessions per season for the next two seasons (if required) – for which a venue hire fee would apply.
• Clubs are eligible to receive a maximum of €2,500 / £2,000 per project.

Applications must be received by Provincial Unions by 6 December 2019.
