Welcome to Green Ball

The Green Ball Show grew out of a pandemic lockdown opportunity to share a great series of in-depth interviews with some of the key players and officials within the Irish game – past and present. The show then grew into more topical interviews with players and coaches in camp or on tour, then extended to spotlighting great work at clubs working at the grassroots.

Today, sports broadcaster and journalist Marie Crowe hosts the podcast which we will bring you regularly throughout 2022. The best way to keep up with episodes is to subscribe to the show though your favourite podcast app.

Finally, joining the Green Ball Podcast and The Green Ball Show on Youtube is the Green Ball Magazine. Through the Green Ball shows and publications we aim to provide fans with great interviews, news, views and analysis about Irish cricket.

We are always keen to hear your thoughts on who we should interview, so hit us up on Twitter at @greenballshow with your ideas.

And please share the show with your family, friends or the cricket-loving person in your life.

And, why ‘Green Ball’?

The origin of the name comes from a gift we received from a visitor named David who travelled half-way around the world from Australia to witness the first men’s Test match at Malahide in 2018. Before he left home he had a hand-crafted green cricket ball made to mark the occasion that he presented to Cricket Ireland at the ground.

We hope that you enjoy this magazine…and our podcast…and our video shows. They are created just for you – the Irish cricket fan.
