Having just returned from an international series in Qatar and with a first ever ICC Women’s World Twenty20 appearance coming up next month in Bangladesh there is little doubt it is an extremely exciting time for the Ireland Women Squad.
Ireland’s Group A games at the Women’s World Twenty20 are scheduled to take place from the 25th of March to the 31st of March in Bangladesh with the return to more local climes starting with the ECB Women’s County Championship Division 2 campaign commencing with games away to Lancashire and Durham on the 4th and 5th of May.
Isobel Joyce and her side will also face Lancashire and Durham in the ECB Women’s County T20 group stages with 4 matches in just two days deciding who goes through to the play-offs for the tournament overall.
Another big target during the summer season will be to retain the Women’s ICC European Championship that they won in Bready in 2012, this year the matches will all be played in scenic surrounds of Rugby school in the UK.
