COVID-19 update following Irish Government announcement (18 September)

As of midnight tonight, the Irish Government has raised Dublin to Level 3 in its COVID-19 Roadmap. We would like to clarify the practical implications of the directives for the cricket family.
There is an exemption for professional / elite / club championship events, which can take place behind closed doors. However, club friendly matches that may have been arranged involving any Dublin-based clubs in the coming weeks can no longer proceed.

Following consultation with Sport Ireland, we can advise that:

• The Test Triangle Inter-Provincial Cup can continue in Dublin but must be played behind closed doors;
• The Super 50 Series can continue, the final two matches must be played behind closed doors;
• YMCA can travel to Belfast to play in the Clear Currency All-Ireland T20 Cup Final.

No domestic travel to ‘spectate sport’ is permitted for County Dublin residents (a livestream will be in place).

For outdoor sports, non-contact training only in pods of up to 15 will be allowed (exemption for professional/elite/inter-county sports/senior club championship).

The rest of the Republic remains at Level 2.
