The Munster Reds make their debut appearance at a Northern Cricket Venue on Friday night. Not only that but they will visit Carrickfergus CC, hosting a senior Interprovincial match for the first time.
The Northern Knights defeated the Munster Reds in the first game of the IP20 series in Cork by eight runs on Duckworth Lewis. It was an exciting encounter that ebbed and flowed throughout before a dramatic conclusion.

The Reds will be hoping to continue what has been a competitive campaign throughout, and perhaps snatch a victory ahead of their final game at home to the Leinster Lightning in August.

James Shannon will captain the Northern Knights, with Adam Berry, Chris Dougherty and Nathan Smith coming into the squad that lost to Leinster Lightning by eight runs in the last IP20 fixture in June. Gary Kidd and Shane Getkate were both unavailable for selection.

For the Reds, Morne Bauer and Mohammad Saddique are unavailable due to work/family circumstances. They are replaced by Gary King and Cormac Hassett who come into the squad following good performances in the recent T20 competitions in both Leinster and Munster.

Young seamer Aaron Cawley returns to the squad following completion of his period in the UK, and Munster Cricket are delighted that Aaron together with fellow Reds squad members , Harry Tector, Jamie Grassi and Max Neville have all been included in the Irish U19 squad for the U19 World Cup qualifying competition in Jersey.
