Cricket Leinster today announced details of this weekend’s inaugural Inter-Provincial T20 Festival to be held at Pembroke Cricket Club, Dublin from Friday 6 July to Sunday 8 July. The festival will see all four sides in the competition play each other once to complete this year’s tournament. After the first three rounds of matches, Leinster Lightning are currently top of the table with three wins followed by the North West Warriors in second, the Northern Knights in third and the Munster Reds are currently in fourth place.
The inaugural T20 festival will see all matches hosted at the same venue for the first time, with plenty of family-friendly entertainment lined up to make it a memorable weekend of cricketing action. There will be barbecue food available each day, alongside bouncy castles, a kid’s zone, ice-cream van whilst the FIFA World Cup Quarter-Finals will be on the big screens in the clubhouse with full bar and the customary wonderful welcome of Pembroke Cricket Club. Attendance is free for all three days.

‘Super Saturday’ will see the top of the table sides clash at 4pm as Leinster Lightning featuring the likes of Ireland internationals George Dockrell, Simi Singh and Andrew Balbirnie will take on the North West Warriors who could include William Porterfield, Andy McBrine and Boyd Rankin. The 11am game will feature the James Shannon-led Northern Knights taking on a Munster Reds side with Max Sorensen. There will also be a special ‘Super Saturday’ draw for all attending members of the 42 affiliated clubs who come to Pembroke at any time on the Saturday of the T20 Festival. The more members of your club that attend, the better the chance of winning with 1 draw ticket granted to the club for each attending member. The highlight prize of the draw is a unique coaching session with Leinster Lightning players coming to your club for a 2-hour session.

Cricket Leinster General Manager, Philip Smith spoke of the importance of the T20 Festival weekend: “Cricket Leinster is delighted to have been asked to host the first ever Inter-Pro T20 Festival weekend and we are very much looking forward to some fantastic cricket over three consecutive days in Pembroke. Leinster Lightning’s continued success is very much down to the support of all of our 42 clubs across the Leinster region and I’d like to call on all of our clubs to come down in big numbers to Pembroke this weekend, particularly on ‘Super Saturday’ so we can create a fantastic atmosphere to support our team as they try to retain the T20 trophy.”

In a further coup for the inaugural T20 Festival, Cricket Leinster is delighted to announce that it will live-stream all six matches of the tournament over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Nearly 20 hours of live cricket with a full three-camera production and clipped highlight packages will go out via the Cricket Leinster website and the official Cricket Leinster YouTube page.
