Laura Delany top scored for Ireland with 17, while skipper Isobel Joyce scored 16 as Ireland could only post 74/9 from their 20 overs.

Pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh was Rumana Ahmen, who ended up with figures of 4/12.

In rely, Bangldesh knocked off the required runs in 12.3 overs, losing two wickets on the way – one each for Lucy O’Reilly and Ciara Metcalfe. Sharmin Akther scored the bulk of the runs for Bangladesh with 36.

Speaking to www.cricketireland.ie after the match, Ireland head coach Aaron Hamilton said: “It was a very disappointing batting display today. We went away from our processes which caused back to back wickets being lost throughout our innings.

“We played a lot of really good cricket against India on Thursday but we didn’t want to get our hands dirty today.”

It’s a long wait to Ireland’s opening ICC World T20 fixture against New Zealand in Mohali on 18 March, Hamilton continued “We now have the opportunity to get a couple of training sessions in before we play New Zealand.”

Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka are their other opponents in Group A.
