Irish umpire Paul Reynolds, who was recently promoted to the International Cricket Council’s second-tier International Umpires Panel, yesterday stood in his first full men’s T20 International.
Becoming the 120th person, and fourth from Ireland, to stand at this level, he is also set to make his one-day international umpiring debut next week.

Paul, who enjoyed some success during his playing career with Leinster Cricket Club, has already stood in four First-Class matches, three List-A T20s and four Women’s Internationals. He was also the fourth umpire in the recent T20Is against India at Malahide in June.

Kevin Gallagher, Chairperson of the Irish Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers (IACUS) said: “I’m delighted to see Paul make his debut at Men’s T20I level following his recent appointment to the ICC International Umpires Panel. It is just reward for many years hard work by Paul and demonstrates the opportunities available to match officials following achievement of Full Member status. There is no doubt that he will thrive at that level and beyond.”

From all at Cricket Ireland, we would like to congratulate Paul on this achievement.
