Following this afternoon’s announcement by the Irish Government, Cricket Ireland and the Provincial Unions have confirmed that all cricket matches in the Republic (including Inter-Provincial Series, Super Series, club etc) must be played behind closed doors, without any spectators in attendance.
A list of permissible people allowed at an Inter-Provincial Series or Super Series match will be confirmed tomorrow (Wednesday). Cricket clubs and members should seek advice from their respective Provincial Unions – Cricket Leinster, Munster Cricket, Northern Cricket Union, and North West Cricket Union.

While these restrictions will apply until at least 13 September, any subsequent changes in the above will be made according to Government guidelines.

For Northern Ireland-based clubs, current restrictions remain as is, however, we will provide an update if circumstances change.

We will continue to liaise with both the Irish Government and NI Executive, and work closely with relevant sporting authorities, to ensure we are fully informed about the pandemic, and will act in accordance with the best advice from the National Public Health Emergency Team, relevant public health bodies, and the World Health Organisation.

Cricket Ireland and the Provincial Unions continue to be enormously grateful to our dedicated players, coaches, clubs, volunteers, and the thousands of cricket families across Ireland for helping minimise the spread of COVID-19 by adhering to the protocols and heeding government advice.
