Shane Getkate to captain Ireland Under 19’s against Scotland

North County all-rounder Shane Getkate has been named captain of the Ireland Under 19 side which is scheduled to take on fierce rivals Scotland in the ICC European Challenge Regional Series this week. These matches are vital as the Ireland Under 19’s preparations for the World Cup in Australia enter their final weeks.

Three games had been scheduled for Uddingston and The Grange this week, but the game at Uddingston tomorrow has already fallen victim to the weather. A decision on whether to reschedule it will be taken later – Wednesday is a reserve date in the competition.
Ireland have called up Pembroke opener Robin Kelly for the first time. He came to prominence by scoring a double century in Leinster earlier this season. Although born in Zimbabwe, he is an Irish passport holder through his Irish born father.
