Sky Sports confirm production and broadcast deal for Ireland v England ODI in May 2019

DUBLIN – Cricket Ireland has today confirmed that Sky Sports will produce and broadcast the one-off one day international (ODI) between Ireland and England at Malahide on 3 May 2019.
Warren Deutrom, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, said:

“We are delighted to welcome back Sky Sports for our first home international of the 2019 season. Sky has been a regular visitor to our shores over the years and we are looking forward to their cameras covering a great contest with a team currently ranked #1 in the ODI format.”

“We expect intense interest in this match from cricket fans in Ireland and the UK, and based on previous experience, a lively travelling contingent of English fans. I’m sure it won’t go without notice that the match is on a Friday, making it the perfect excuse for a long-weekend trip to Dublin.”

“The match also comes nearly two years from the last time these two sides met in the ODI format, when Ireland played a two-match series at Bristol and Lord’s in front of large crowds. We would hope for a sell-out, so we’d recommend getting in early to avoid missing out.”

This announcement comes on the back of Cricket Ireland signing its first multi-year media rights deal (which was recently concluded). While Sky Sports will broadcast in Ireland and the UK, broadcast details for other markets will be announced closer to the match.
