Three changes to Ireland Wolves squad to face MCC

The Ireland Wolves face the MCC YC at Southgate Cricket Club from Wednesday July 26th to Friday July 28th in the third 3-Day match of the month.
After defeating Scotland A by 100 runs, the Ireland Wolves conclude their series of 3-Day matches with a trip to Southgate CC, London, to face the MCC Young Cricketers.

The Wolves have made several changes to the original squad selected for this game.

Northern Knights batsman James Shannon has a slight knee injury and has been replaced in the squad by Jack Tector. The young Leinster Lightning batter will be looking to continue his good form for the Wolves following a century against Scotland A two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Jacob Mulder has also been called up to replace George Dockrell. The Leinster CC spinner is not missing out however, instead, he will now line out for the MCC against the Wolves. This allows Ireland the chance to field an additional spinner in the game.

“I’m fulfilling my commitments to the MCC but it also gives another Irish player a chance to get on the field,” Dockrell explained.

“It will be an interesting position trying to get my teammates out but it’s much more important we all get red ball practice in ahead of the ICup match against the Netherlands,” added Dockrell.

Lorcan Tucker has also been added to the squad that will take on the MCC YC’s from Wednesday.
