Bio:
One of Leinster’s premier club cricketers, Delaney is yet to really crack into the Ireland team with consistency. Marked improvement with ball in hand makes her a real contender for a more stable position in the green shirt going forward. A genuine all-rounder, Delaney is more stroke-maker than power hitter. Comfortable batting anywhere in the line-up, Delaney is a captain’s dream as she finds her feet easily.

During Ireland women's victory against South Africa on Friday, Rachel Delaney became the first bowler in the history of international cricket (Test/ODI/T20I) to open the innings with a wicket-maiden, and not be called upon to deliver another over in the match.
